TOPIC: Filter Replacement

One of the most common questions we get asked is “How often should I replace my filters?”  The simple answer, "It all depends!

There are many variables that affect filter life. How dusty is your material?  Are you running regrind?  If so, what percentage and how dusty is the regrind?   Are you running 24/7 or 8 to 5, five days a week?

As you can tell, there's a lot that goes into determining the life of a filter. How each of these questions are answered can determine how often filters need to be replaced. While we can’t pinpoint an exact filter change interval, there are signs and signals we can look for.

Clogged filters cause poor drying and temperature fluctuation issues. Some of these filters show they're past serviceable life, whereas other filters may not appear as obvious! In these cases, although the outer surface appears clean, the “pores” of the filter may be plugged, setting off similar alarms.

Matsui dryer filters use a 5-micron filter media which by design catches the smallest of particles. Although they can be cleaned repeatedly with compressed air, eventually the media becomes saturated, and they need to be replaced.

General Rule:

WHEN IN DOUBT, CHANGE IT OUT!
